Can't enjoy my wine man! The stress & distress it brings to the ones I love.

We must live & love every day as fully as we are allowed. And, look forward because that's the only direction you can go.

We will make an arrangement with a local colon cancer support group.

Multiple flushes of bloody stool, spontaneous initiation & resolution, over four hours in mid-December 2004. Analyzed by a PA to probably be a manifestation of diverticulitis shown on sigmoidoscopy 2 yrs before. Six weeks later further flushings resulted in ER admission to Holy Cross Hospital January 31, 2005.

Blood transfusion immediately, multiple tests, & scheduled colonoscopy resulted in surgery Feb 5, 2005, showing the presence of a tumor just above the appendix that had to be removed. A 2 foot long section of the colon was removed & the ends reattached. Biopsy showed stage 4 disease with metastasis to the peritoneum.

Snuggle Bandit Sighted in Silver Spring!Views: 521

OK! Today (now yesterday) has panned out to be a much better day. It could be the fact that the weather is brighter and warmer. We had several days of nice rain storms that included a brief power outage that had us scrambling around the house for the cable box fuse that doesn’t exist, only to find that the cable box needed to be turned back on. DEEERRRRRR! It could be because Daddy Lane is seeming more together and “loose”, needing no artificial methods for bowel relief and the fact that Momma Lane really benefits from her socialization and exercise class at the senior center.

All big factors in making for a more upbeat day. Monday I took two naps in between the tears, a visit with Eileen (social worker with Hospice) and got out to skate at an indoor “punk” warehouse called the Fight Club, it all seemed to be helpful/necessary in the process. Nothing like flying at 20 miles an hour and then loosing control only to full-on body slam into a wooden ramp to make a guy feel better! Yay for self inflicted contusions of grandeur…I’ll be healing my foot and be back at it soon fam, don’t you worry!

Tuesday was swell. We went off to Target in order to replace the video tapes and DVD’s that Paul has lovingly shot and burned for all of our family and friends that have come through recently. Daddy Lane held up good as we gave his new-ish wheelchair a whirl and went all around the mall searching the lower price for the DVD’s and where Momma Lane was enamored by the staff at Office Depot. They really were cool. But we were some of the only folks in the store. We all held up well despite silly elevator antics and a seemingly endless amount of obstacles in our way. People seem to be getting more and more wound up as this recession builds steam. Let us all remember the important things in life. Let us all remain capable of showing love and compassion towards our fellow man, woman and child. PLEASE! Even if they cut us off to get that parking space that is closer to the store entrance or seem to have less brain power than a wombat. AMEN!

So today (Wednesday) Momma is off to her geneology workshop in D.C. (she’s gone off alone and driven to the subway station to ride the “tube”, GO MOMMA!) and Daddy Lane and I will be leaving for the Photography exhibit at the National Archives soon. He was asking me if I would be able to hold up with my banged up foot. He’s so dang sweeeeeeeeeet! A lot of folks say he is the most considerate person they know, and I have to agree! But we’re going, dang-it, bruised foot or not!

Jaspers 14th B-Day was yesterday and Mom and Dad got him a cool Disney digital camera from Target. Cinnamon has planned a B-Day party for him this Friday at her Momma’s house where his whole crew will be in attendance. PARTY! Then Momma Lanes B-Day is this Friday! She’s gonna be having adult male entertainment so send her some one dollar bills y’all! All of us April kids! Cheryl (Niki’s Momma) had a B-Day this week as well….huuuuuum what were our parents doing during those hot summer nights nine months before April showers? Why they were enjoying the fireworks and hot-dogs of July!

We hope that you have a great day, we are thinking of all of you in our own little and big ways, all the while with style and having lots of fun. We are eating meals and snacks together and spending quality time with each other knowing how blessed we are to have this daily contact while sharing love.

Power to the peaceful!

Timothy

Don’t forget your cousin Cindy, born April 16th 1972 when Apollo 16 went up. Secret, that’s how I remember Apollo 16 cause I can”t ever forget my children’s birthday.
