Can't enjoy my wine man! The stress & distress it brings to the ones I love.

We must live & love every day as fully as we are allowed. And, look forward because that's the only direction you can go.

We will make an arrangement with a local colon cancer support group.

Multiple flushes of bloody stool, spontaneous initiation & resolution, over four hours in mid-December 2004. Analyzed by a PA to probably be a manifestation of diverticulitis shown on sigmoidoscopy 2 yrs before. Six weeks later further flushings resulted in ER admission to Holy Cross Hospital January 31, 2005.

Blood transfusion immediately, multiple tests, & scheduled colonoscopy resulted in surgery Feb 5, 2005, showing the presence of a tumor just above the appendix that had to be removed. A 2 foot long section of the colon was removed & the ends reattached. Biopsy showed stage 4 disease with metastasis to the peritoneum.

Another Swell Day!Views: 520

Today was cool.
Dad’s brothers Tom and Bob are in town visiting. Before they arrived today Dad was a little antsy looking forward to their time together. Great timing as the weather couldn’t be better, spring is coming to the East coast and you can smell it in the air….MMMMM!

In the afternoon we enjoyed having snacks provided by momma Lane and caught up with each other- it has been up to 12 and 1/2 years since the last time some of us have seen one another last.

Then it was nap time, the brothers went to get cleaned up at their motel room and the three of us crashed for a couple of hours with some much needed afternoon schnoozing. We then had a wonderful meal at the Burmese restaurant we love Mandalay where we all shared family style as well as some laughs. Good times, thanks for the grub Dad!

We all head to Richmond VA tomorrow to catch up with Annette and our cousin Cadden whom is visiting from Chicago with (not so) shorty Markos. We hope to visit briefly while Annette is in the thralls of packing her house up preparing for moving soon to a new home. Utter madness. But since we are in the midst of taking advantage of the time we have together we’ll make it work as best as we can.

DadBros

I was very glad to have my computer returned by the APPLE store in under 24 hours! So I will be able to remain on-line and update the blog on a daily basis without having to utilize the hardware of the evil Microsoft empire.

Thank you to all of you that have shown us love and support. It means a great deal to us to know that we have such a wonderful support network of family and friends. Daddy Lane is one hell of a man and we are rallying together to show him how special he is to all of us.

Yesterday Daddy Lane went to his NARFE (National Active Retired Federal Employees) meeting and was given a nice fruit basket as a token of their gratitude for his hard work. He is president of the local chapter and continues to work with them on pushing for legislature protecting the rights of retired federal employees, he has plans to attend future meetings and with selecting topics of interest for those meetings. He is one hell of a guy that Daddy Lane!

So with all of that said this blog is now complete, have a wonderful day!

Timothy

I sure love looking at the amazing pictures of all of you guys. You can feel the love. We sure wish we could be there. Landon keeps saying ‘Uncle Jerry and Aunt Marion’ as we look at the pictures. We are there in spirit as well. Thinking of you all everyday. I am so sorry for the reason you are all together, but am grateful that you are. We miss you, look up to you and love you very much. I know you know that, but it sure doesn’t hurt to say it LOTS! HUGS and KISSES
