Can't enjoy my wine man! The stress & distress it brings to the ones I love.

We must live & love every day as fully as we are allowed. And, look forward because that's the only direction you can go.

We will make an arrangement with a local colon cancer support group.

Multiple flushes of bloody stool, spontaneous initiation & resolution, over four hours in mid-December 2004. Analyzed by a PA to probably be a manifestation of diverticulitis shown on sigmoidoscopy 2 yrs before. Six weeks later further flushings resulted in ER admission to Holy Cross Hospital January 31, 2005.

Blood transfusion immediately, multiple tests, & scheduled colonoscopy resulted in surgery Feb 5, 2005, showing the presence of a tumor just above the appendix that had to be removed. A 2 foot long section of the colon was removed & the ends reattached. Biopsy showed stage 4 disease with metastasis to the peritoneum.

Saturday, fun Saturday!Views: 462

Well, well, well Little Big David decided to come and visit his Pop-Pop with his Momma on Saturday March 29th. It only took them 4 hours in various forms of traffic (with only a few folks rubber necking the occasional fender bender, etc) to get here.

And boy was it fun! The first offspring of Annettes two beautiful children played pillow phone in the bathroom while preparing for bed and it was, as you can see, a blast.

DavyPhone

Dad was in a good mood with energy and he really put in his all for a fun filled day. First we were off to Paul’s house for an extended video session, he stayed in bed late to gather the resources I believe. Dad really threw the gauntlet down and taped about 2 hours of chapters from his life. He is currently on the paleolithic era and will be broaching his post law school- first government job times the next session. After lunch and a nap Annette and David arrived, time another quick nap and then off to Chantal and Duncan’s house for din-din.

Somewhere between the video taping and the arrival of Prince David I was able to peep out the Olney skate park (WOW, the big bowl is huge and I got to meet/skate with Kenny Inouye the guitarist from the first punk rock band I ever saw live named Marginal Man! I was psyched) then I made it to Trader Joe’s for cookies (Richmond, VA does not yet have a TJ’s and Annette needs thank yous for the folks that are graciously helping her with the move).

Then after Mom and David retired for the evening (and the house was a bit QUIETER) Dad, Annette and I were able to have a nice late night love fest, talking about family stuff. It was really great to see Annette and Dad have some time to catch up and express their love for each other, very touching indeed. Their relationship has always been a unique one. She shares a great deal of Dads qualities which, as a Dad of an amazing woman myself, makes him extremely proud. The knowledge that we are able to pass on the values and integrity that help define us as human beings is extremely valuable. We are a truly lucky bunch.

So as I write this Daddy Lane is calling the troops to the table for his special sourdough pancakes and David is saying “Bobby, Bobby, Bobby, Bee-Bee, Bee-Bee”

Till next time friends and family we send the Lane love your way!
Tim
