Can't enjoy my wine man! The stress & distress it brings to the ones I love.

We must live & love every day as fully as we are allowed. And, look forward because that's the only direction you can go.

We will make an arrangement with a local colon cancer support group.

Multiple flushes of bloody stool, spontaneous initiation & resolution, over four hours in mid-December 2004. Analyzed by a PA to probably be a manifestation of diverticulitis shown on sigmoidoscopy 2 yrs before. Six weeks later further flushings resulted in ER admission to Holy Cross Hospital January 31, 2005.

Blood transfusion immediately, multiple tests, & scheduled colonoscopy resulted in surgery Feb 5, 2005, showing the presence of a tumor just above the appendix that had to be removed. A 2 foot long section of the colon was removed & the ends reattached. Biopsy showed stage 4 disease with metastasis to the peritoneum.

Good Day To All Y'all!Views: 437

WOW! Thank you all so much for your responses. It really is inspiring to get the feedback. I’m glad to be able to have a resource to get the information needed in a efficient manner.

Dad is doing good this AM, up around 6 (he’s really up every hour or so), taking some medications and working on the blog. Later in the day we will be going to his buddy Paul M.’s place for a video tape session where he will drone on and on about his past….good stuff actually. Family history stuff that Momma Lane is always talking about, you know in a good way of course.

Dad will be hearing back from the hospice nurse today about an increase in his primary pain medication. I will be working to get more photos up on the blog as well as helping Momma learn how to use the Apple operating system and then going to the Apple store for her to check out the laptops and ask a lot of interesting questions about the salespersons family. Heck she’ll probably get some type of discount or free software knowing my Momma!

Thanks again, the support is not only appreciated but felt here at the Lane camp in our hearts. We are staying strong and making the most of the amazing time we have been blessed with by spending time together, and fighting over who’s going to cook dinner.

Hello Lane family!
You are an ingenious bunch! What a great way to share what we are all wanting to know…how you are doing. Thank you for be willing to open your lives to us…especially for those of us who love and care for you from a such a distance. Please know you are in the thoughts and prayers of many, many of my friends and family in TN and across the country!
With love and blessings, Jaime (and Walt)
